|This month we’re featuring a Level 2 simSchool partner – the California University of Pennsylvania. Holly Diehl has been leading a team of researchers from the Department of Early, Middle and Special Education that includes Diane Nettles, Connie Monroe, Jason Kight, Clover Wright, and Connie Armitage.|
| CALU Pilots simSchool in Student Teaching and Special Education
The research team at California University of Pennsylvania, a Level 2 partner, is piloting the simSchool modules this semester in two different classes-student teaching and a special education course on assessing and positive behavior support. Since last summer, the team has collaborated in the following ways:
The team is excited to find out how to use simSchool to increase the interactions that teacher candidates have with diverse populations. Additionally, California University of PA researchers are interested in exploring ways to use simSchool in an “anchored instruction” approach so that all students in the teacher education program at the university will have common experiences from which to build knowledge and pedagogy.
|simSchool Modules and Lesson Plans - March Workshop & Contest!
It is just about one month away from simSchool’s half-day workshop in Austin, TX at the SITE conference on Friday, March 9. Remember that if you are in a Level 2 or 3 site, we will reimburse the workshop fee of $65 and give you $250 toward your travel expenses.
